Welcome To

Mount Zion Baptist Church

We believe that the mission for the life of this church will be lived out in such a fashion that God will receive the glory through all of our strivings to be healthy, vibrant and effective.

We endeavor to manifest the ministry of the Holy Spirit by the fruit of our shared labor and love in meeting the spiritual, financial, emotional, social and Intellectual needs of our church, family, and communities.

Reverend Keynon
Lamont Jackson,

affectionately known as Pastor Key, is a devoted pastor, preacher, educator, and servant leader whose ministry is deeply rooted in a legacy of faith and service. With years of pastoral, educational, and community ministry experience, Pastor Key was appointed the seventeenth Senior Pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Griffin, Georgia, in 2024. He is committed to leading with faith, purpose, and a passion for helping people grow in their relationship with Christ and their calling to serve others.

To be a congregation who studies and applies God’s infallible Word, by moving from follow-ship to the discipleship of Jesus Christ, while being guided by the Holy Spirit to assist unbelievers to join the Kingdom of God. (Matt 28: 19-20)

Mission Statement

The Mount Zion Baptist Church is dedicated to fulfilling God's mandate by embodying and exemplifying love through the preaching and teaching of the gospel, serving the community through Christian ministry, fostering the spiritual growth of believers, and advancing the salvation of the lost through evangelism and missions.

"To be a congregation who studies and applies God’s infallible Word, by moving from follow-ship to the discipleship of Jesus Christ, while being guided by the Holy Spirit to assist unbelievers to join the Kingdom of God." (Matt 28: 19-20)

Vision

We seek to accomplish our mission through the G.R.O.W. model:
As a body of believers,

G

(Go) We must consider and choose the mandate of The Great Commission; baptizing believers in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28: 16-20)

R

(Radiate) We must always show the love of Jesus the Christ that lives on the inside of us. (Matthew 22: 36-40)

O

(Outreach) We must serve, encourage, give, and show mercy to all people. (Luke 10: 25-27)

W

(Worship) We will gather together and show communal gratitude to Almighty God, for the work of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Psalm 100; Hebrews 12: 28-29)

Affirmation of Faith

We believe in God the Father, infinite in wisdom, power and love, whose mercy is over all his works, and whose will is ever directed to his children's good.

We believe in Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of man, the gift of the Father's unfailing grace, the ground of our hope, and the promise of our deliverance from sin and death.

We believe in the Holy Spirit as the divine presence in our lives, whereby we are kept in perpetual remembrance of the truth of Christ, and find strength and help in time of need.

We believe that this faith should manifest itself in the service of love as set forth in the example of our blessed Lord, to the end that the kingdom of God may come upon the earth.

Amen.
